Frequently Asked Questions
You may call (412) 633‑1986 or email MeredithGroup@rwbaird.com to schedule a meeting with one of our Advisors. We would be happy to learn more about your situation and discuss how we may be able to assist you.
The Meredith Group is supported by a highly credentialed and experienced team, including five CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ (CFP®), one Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), one Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), one Wealth Management Certified Professional (WMCP®), as well as a non‑practicing Juris Doctor (JD) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
In addition to these professional designations, our Financial Advisors and Client Specialists bring decades of combined experience working with clients across a wide range of financial planning needs. Our areas of focus include retirement planning, addressing the complex considerations of business owners, building investment portfolios with clearly defined objectives, identifying tax‑efficient strategies, and navigating estate planning considerations for families with unique circumstances.
This depth of experience allows us to provide thoughtful guidance and practical support as clients navigate financial decisions and evolving life events. We are committed to helping you understand your options and make informed choices aligned with your goals.
Meredith Group team members are located full‑time in three Baird offices across Western Pennsylvania: Pittsburgh’s Strip District, Wexford, and Greensburg. Some of our Financial Advisors also meet with clients in Baird offices in Southpointe/Canonsburg and Butler.
We are also happy to meet at the offices of our business‑owner clients, recognizing that stepping away from day‑to‑day operations is not always convenient. In addition, we regularly meet with clients by phone or video conference and find these meetings to be an efficient and productive alternative to in‑person visits.
Yes, we work with clients across the United States and also with clients who reside internationally. Advances in technology allow us to maintain strong communication and provide consistent support for clients regardless of location, whether they live nearby or across the country.
Our comprehensive planning approach is best suited for clients with $1 million or more in investable assets, as it allows us to provide the greatest depth of service.
That said, we do occasionally work with clients who fall below that level, such as young professionals seeking guidance on building strong financial habits, maximizing savings, and planning for long‑term goals. Each prospective client relationship is evaluated based on individual needs and objectives.
One of the benefits of working with a closely coordinated team like the Meredith Group is access to more than just your dedicated Financial Advisor. Our experienced Client Specialists and Assistants are available to help with many day‑to‑day questions and service-related requests.
If you need timely guidance and your Advisor is in a meeting, another member of our advisory team, who has appropriate access to your information, can step in to assist. This team-based approach helps ensure continuity, responsiveness, and consistent support.
In your first meeting, our priority is getting to know you. We want to understand where you are in life, where you hope to go, and what questions or concerns are most important to you.
Of course, we will discuss your financial picture, including savings and investments, income and expenses, and items such as insurance coverage and legal documents. Equally important, however, is learning what motivates you beyond the numbers. Understanding your values, priorities, and concerns helps us develop a plan that is aligned with your goals and responsive to what matters most to you.
The length of this meeting depends on how much you’d like to share, but we generally recommend setting aside up to two hours. This allows us to gain a meaningful understanding of your situation and to explain our planning process and how we work with clients.
Because we view every client relationship as unique, there is no one‑size‑fits‑all answer regarding cost. Our planning process helps determine which services and investment strategies may be appropriate for your specific situation, and that analysis informs how our team is compensated.
In many cases, we are compensated through fees based on the assets we manage on your behalf. These fees are generally charged directly to the accounts on a quarterly basis. When providing investment advisory services, we act in a fiduciary capacity and are required to put our clients’ interests first.
In certain situations, however, other forms of compensation—such as commissions or sales charges—may apply or be preferred, depending on the product or service involved. We strive to be transparent and upfront about all fees and costs associated with working with us. Any applicable compensation will be clearly disclosed so you can fully consider it as part of your decision‑making process.
We view financial planning as an essential foundation for making thoughtful, informed investment decisions. Because of that, we are careful not to offer specific portfolio recommendations without first understanding your full financial picture, including your goals, priorities, and overall situation.
That said, we are always happy to listen to your questions and, when appropriate, provide general education and perspective to help you better understand your options.
Yes, we are happy to review your existing investments and help evaluate whether they remain appropriate for your goals. This includes considering potential tax implications of making changes and assessing how your current holdings may—or may not—work alongside any recommended strategies.
We approach every client individually and take care to understand the full context of your situation when evaluating investment options and making recommendations.
Meeting frequency depends on each client’s needs and preferences. Most clients meet with us once or twice a year for a comprehensive review of their accounts and plan. From time to time, we may also reach out between scheduled meetings if we believe a check‑in would be helpful.
We encourage all clients to contact us whenever questions or concerns arise. Our goal is to serve as a trusted resource and collaborative partner, helping you navigate financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
Yes. In fact, we prefer to work closely with your attorney and/or tax preparer. Many aspects of financial planning naturally intersect with tax and estate planning, and collaboration helps ensure those areas are aligned.
Our goal is to work in conjunction with your other advisors to provide coordinated support, streamline communication, and make the financial planning process as seamless as possible for you.
